I don’t know if I’ve ever photographed a happier couple—-seriously! Renee and Mike simply and completely enjoy each other. I don’t know how else to put it. They are so natural and at ease with one another… They laugh, they hug, they kiss, they just melt together like one perfect organism. I had a really great time working with these two because there didn’t seem to be any nerves or expectations on their end… they came to me as though they were just embarking on another fun adventure or activity together. Even when they looked at the camera it was as though I wasn’t there…. it was all about them, and their togetherness…..

This shot is 100% journalistic… I had them do some little fun move to get a reaction, and shot the shot that came from it was alright, but when they were done spinning or whatever silly thing I asked them to do, it was this moment afterwards that grabbed me. They stopped acting and held just eachother…. again, like I wasn’t even there.

This is definetely the shot that doesn’t belong in this set. I couldn’t do edgy with Mike and Renee if I tried…. they just aren’t edgy people (and I mean that in the best way). But we did do some alleyway shots. I liked the juxtaposition between the cool and warm tones, and love the expression on Renee’s face in this image.

We waited and waited for some lights to turn on…. Union station in particular (which by the way, still hadn’t turned on at 7pm)! While we were waiting we sat down outside The Market, and then the little twinkle lights came on…. it was perfect timing for a very romantic shot.

Thank you for putting some photos of Renee and Mike on your website. Renee is my 1st cousin and she looks fantastic and happy. I have probably seen that smile a couple thousand times in my life but never brighter than in your pictures with her future husband. You did a fantastic job of capturing them looking very relaxed. As a terrible amateur photographer, I am very envious of your obvious skill. Thank you again for sharing Renee and Mike with us.

    Julie,
Renee and I had a fantastic time during the shoot. After we were finished we ended up at Tamaya for dinner and we couldn’t stop smiling thinking about the experience and anticipating the final product. And we are ecstatic about the way the pictures turned out. We’ve been telling everyone we know to look here and at the pictage event that you setup for us. Thanks so much for keeping us comfortable during that hour and for putting your enormous talent to work making lasting memories for us both.

    Mike
